Here is an early 20th century factory-made (I think) duck decoy. It is a model of a pintail. It measures ~17-1/2" bill to tail and is ~6" tall (w/o weights) and 5-1/2" wide in the body. It is solid wood with a flat bottom; it has been rigged for use. The carving is very nice, the paint is original and the eyes are glass. The head/ body - neck seam is loose --- presumably had putty at one time. There are some small areas of wear as shown in the pics. In addition there is a long crack running most of the length of the body on the duck's right side. This has not been touched for restoration. I have always thought this was a Masons standard or Detriot grade decoy but I am not an expert and don't know for sure. A pretty display item.
